Our client, a local authority have retained us to recruit an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner to join them on a contract basis. The role is full time 37 hours a week.
The role is available immediately on an ongoing basis and offers Hybrid working with one/two days a week in the office.
Candidates must be qualified to degree level in Environmental Health or related subject and ideally be registered with a relevant professional body.,
Experience of environmental enforcement essential as is housing or HHSRS experience.
To provide effective regulatory services in the area of Environmental Health in particular targeting environmental crime, nuisance and private sector housing, giving advice and guidance and carrying out inspections and conducting investigations. Responsible for the effective investigation and resolution of complaints relating to a range of Environmental Health matters including environmental crime. Inspect and survey dwellings including private rented, owner occupied, houses in multiple occupation and empty properties and to carry out relevant enforcement and licencing activities Detect and investigate breaches of the law and in accordance with organisation enforcement policy, prepare reports for formal action and serve statutory notices, including fixed penalty notices an civil penalty notices. Responsible for compliance and procedural legislation and for the safe custody of exhibits and documents Provide evidence in court or to other hearings as necessary Gather intelligence;, use it to identify those issues most harmful to communities then work with the team to use the intelligence to target resources in the most effective and efficient way Develop and work within effective partnerships with a range of agencies from public, private and community/voluntary sectors and to deliver partnership projects
